Summer Grilling Having a Blast

One, would think that in a 107 degree weather one would not dream to grill their food outside.  But, guess what I do (rather David grills and I prep everything for him.)  I would rather step outside into above 100 degree heat for a couple of minutes check on my food, and then head back into my nice air conditioned home.  The oven heats up the home like crazy. I save money on air conditioning and I keep my home nice and cool.  I'm not here for too much longer but my goal is to try and grill and crockpot it all Summer.  There are so many grilling recipes I am dying to try.

Last night we grilled our whole dinner.  We had Corn on the cob with a spice rub that I made.  And then we grilled some sliced up potatoes that were drizzled with olive oil and spice.  The barbeque gave them a nice crispness.  We kept it easy and just made some hamburgers. And then my favorite part of the night was grilling our dessert. I sliced some nectarines, and made a blackberry coulis.  And served it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  So YUMMY! You could add a cookie to it or a nice mint sprig to make it extra yummy.  But I didn't have any of that on hand.  But even without it, it was soooo yummy! I am very excited to test out some more grilling recipes.

I love Summer time!

Showing the Desert some Love!

I knew May would fly by but I had no idea how how fast it really would go.  It's June and that means we are leaving in two and half weeks up North to Washington.  It's exciting, scary, sad, happy all at the same time.  When I first moved to Arizona I never thought I would ever consider it to be a pretty place, but I have grown to appreciate it's understated beauty.

Last weekend I went out to take pictures with two friends I have made up here. We woke up really early and headed out before the sun rose.  We were worried that there would be no clouds but they graciously stuck around.   I had so much fun. I don't know what it is about seeing the sun rise but it does something to your soul.  It makes you feel so alive.  I can't really describe what it is that I feel but it's almost like when they talk about having a fresh start to a new day, you can actually feel that energy. It must have something to do with witnessing the change in light and temperature that your body reacts to.  One moment you are longing for a sweater because of the crisp breeze that is hitting your skin then all within minutes your body is reacting to the sun's brightness and warmth that comes as the suns rays slowly rise over the horizon. It's amazing! It was the perfect morning just taking pictures and talking about photography.  The only thing that was missing to make it perfect was a bowl of fresh fruit "strawberries." I am so glad we finally made it work.  We have been wanting to get together for months and last minute we made it happen.  So, if you are reading this Mandy and Cynthia I appreciate your friendship so much.

I guess there is beauty everywhere, you just need to learn to stop and look to appreciate it.
