Our Soccer Girl

It is Ariana's first soccer season.  She was so excited to start two weeks ago.  Its fun seeing my little girl run up and down the field with such determination.  My favorite part to watch is when one of her team mates makes a goal.  She celebrates with a double fist pump in the air as she is jumping.  She is probably the smallest one on her team, but she tries so hard to get in there.  And she makes every effort to get her little legs to match the stride of everyone else.  Ever since she started playing you just see her at home dribbling the ball everywhere.  I am glad she likes it so much. I am just sad we can't stay for the whole season.

The flash was on I didn't realize it.  But I think this is such a cute pic of her.

Viggo wanted to sit with Ariana and her team so bad.  He whined the whole time about it.

She got to play keeper.  They are that the age where everyone is fighting for the chance to play in goal.  I wish I got the shot of David's face when Ariana was asking to play keeper.  It was priceless lol.

Viggo would stop whining when he got to drink some power-aid.  He was so sad he couldn't play with Ariana. Its been hard for him to understand why he can't get out there and play too.  By the way he is in a stage where he whines all the time.  He has a very sing song whine.  Like "Daaaaaadddddyyyy."
Sometimes its really funny and other times really annoying.  Like that day.  We were trying to watch Ariana but we just had him doing his sing song whine the whole time :0/.  This is what it sounded like.  "Yooooo quuuierrrrrro mi Naaaannnna."

He finally stopped whining a little bit and started playing soccer.

I think he was trying to prove to everyone that he could play on Ariana's team.

Birthday Girl

Just last year we moved to Surprise, and had to celebrate her birthday in mid of our chaotic move in.  This year we got to celebrate it amid another chaotic move, but this time we are moving out.  Its funny when we moved in last year, David told me that we wouldn't be living in this house for too long.  I guess he was right.  Ariana, was still happy though.  She keeps asking us everyday when we are moving down to San Diego.  I think she is really excited about being close to family.  She said the best present she could get was us moving to San Diego, where the ants don't bite. Yes she is obsessed with this.

We started her morning with opening up birthday presents.  We like to do it in the morning that way our kids have time to play with all their toys all day.  Then we had her birthday lunch, since everyone was home.  And we finished the night with eating her birthday cake.  It started off a little shaky because she said she was not feeling well, but she soon made a turn around by the afternoon.  We wanted to thank family for all their phone calls to wish my Nanita a happy birthday.  And Sara and Kevin for the amazing gifts.  She carries her pinky pie everywhere with her.  My nikon is still not back so I had to take pics with my old one.  I didn't realize how much I would miss my camera.  But in the end it doesn't matter, I still got to take pictures of my big five year old girl.

Ariana at 5 Years Old

1)  You love My Little Pony, and you want to start watching shows like ICarly and Hanna Montana, but I don't let you.  They just seem so grown up to me.  About every week, you present to me the reasons why you should be able to watch these shows.  You almost get me to break little one, but I noticed when you watch these shows you start to talk back a lot.  I know you will be big soon enough so, I don't want to speed up the process.

2) You love to color with your brother.  This makes Daddy so proud.  He thinks you and Viggo may get his talent for art.  I think so too.

3) You love to shop.  You are the best shopping partner ever.  I think you are just a people watcher, and you love to observe.  Your Dad and I are a little more shy, so I don't know where you got this outgoing personality.  You say hi to everyone, and precede to have a conversation with them about their day.  It is very cute.  I can tell you make people smile.

4) Your favorite food is still pizza and ice cream.  And you love chocolate! Daddy says you get that from your Aunt Leah.  But Auntie Leah and I know Daddy a little better than that.

5) You love your brother soooooo much.  You are the best big sister ever.  He looks up too you so much.  Every night you and Viggo have ninja battles.  It is very nice of you to not force him to play dolls all day.

6)  You have the ability to read emotions so well. You can tell when someone is sad and in need of a friend.  Your heart goes out to them.  I think you are going to make the world a better place by just being in it Nanita.
8) You have become obsessed with movies that Daddy and I use to watch.  You are determined to watch them all.  Right, now you are on a mission to watch a Shirley Temple movie.  And you love to sit with me and watch I Love Lucy.  I use to watch old black and white shows all the time as a little girl too.  I am excited as you get older that I will have someone to sit with and watch all the classics with.  Your dad is not such a big fan.

9) As sweet as you are, you are not afraid to voice your opinion. Sometimes, it gets a little out of hand.  But I love that you have a mind of your own, and aren't afraid to stand up for what you think is right.  Sometimes, Ariana you teach me important lessons.

10)  You absolutely love to learn.  You hunger for new information.  You la la la love going to primary.  You look forward to it all week.  I know I won't struggle getting you up in October for school.  I am sure you will be up before even I am.

I love you Ariana! Happy 5th birthday!

Sorry for the information overload everyone. I just want Ariana to look back one day and almost be able to relive her memories.

My Dreamer

I had to record this before I forgot.  Yesterday, the kids were getting dressed to go outside to help David with some yard work.  Ariana decided she wanted to get Viggo dressed.  She found him this pajama shirt we haven't put on him yet. She thought that it would be a wonderful idea to put Viggo in a long sleeved pajama Spider man shirt in 106 degree weather.  What makes it cute is that if you pull your arms over your head you can see that connected to the arms and torso are these web like wings.  Ariana was telling Viggo he had to wear it because it would make him fly.  I wish I could have captured his face.  He quickly decided he needed to wear this shirt.  I stayed quite just observing what he would do.  As soon as he put the shirt on, he took off at running spread with his arms spread and took the biggest leap his little two year old legs could take.  He quickly came back down.  He then looked at Nana with the saddest face ever and told her he was unable to fly.  Remember when you were little and you thought anything was possible.  That's my little boy right now.  So, innocent to the laws of gravity and nature. So, believing in what he is told and believes he can do.  I laughed to myself, but at the same time I was sad that he had to find out he could not fly with a shirt that had wings. Within the next minute he was off running and laughing looking for the next fun thing to do, and I was left there thinking about the innocence and unwavering faith children can possess. I hope as he grows up he never stops dreaming.  That is one of my favorite things about my little Viggo.  He has such beautiful intense eyes.  And when you see him play you can see through his eyes that he is imagining a completely different world.    A world where he can fly, and leap from building to building,  a world where he possess special ninja skills.  I hope you never stop dreaming Viggo.
