No longer just Dumb and Happy

So around 9 months Viggo was saying Papa and ayana. After about a week of this he decided he no longer wanted to speak, and began to grunt for everything. Seriously I think the break down of communication with the men starts very early. Viggo being proof that he just expects me to be able to understand what he wants through a grunt. Well about a week and a half ago he started saying "mami". When he says that I feel like I would give him the world if I could. But anyways then today he said his first official word. He said "mas", which means "more". My little boy is a big eater, and it only seems fitting that his first word would be more. He said "mas this morning when he noticed that we were not serving him another pancake. Well that's not it. Then we get to church, and David lets Viggo drink from the water fountain. Which by the way he loves!! He loves sticking his face in it. He thinks its hilarious. Anyways he then started saying "Mas Agua". Which means more water. He makes me so happy!!! He is the happiest baby, and I use to tell people that he is just "dumb and happy". Of course I do not really mean this. It just sounds hilarious, because then people would turn to look at him and he would have this big goofy grin. Seriously he is just a ball of joy, nothing could bring this kids spirits down. Just naive to the world that surrounds him, and just happy to be a part of it. So I guess my little Viggo is just "happy and hungry". Te amo tanto Viggito!!!!

Cottonwood Derby

I along with several other mothers participate in a playgroup. It is so much fun because everyone takes a turn hosting it. This year my friend Audrey and I teamed up to host our very first playgroup. I don't know about Audrey but I was so nervous. I have been to some pretty awesome playgroups and I didn't want us to be known as the ones that threw a boring one.

We decided to do a derby. The kids got to bring their stick horses and decorate their hats to look like they were going to a day at the horse races. We did an obstacle course (which didn't work out as well as I thought) and a flat out race, and then we had the kids march in "single" file to show of their stick horses. Then for a snack Audrey made popcorn for all the kids. I think it actually went really well and the kids looked so cute!! Thanks Audrey for doing the playgroup with me!!!

Facing My Fears

Went on a beautiful hike through Sycamore Canyon. It was so much fun, except for the hike back where you have a straight incline to get back to your car for about half a mile, with a 22 pound baby on your back. Actually I did not mind that at all, it actually made me feel tough, and I'm all about being tough. Just ask David and my family. I am always trying to prove that I am not a sissy, but some how I can never get anyone to believe that I am tough. Even when I bust out my tough face ( Pouty lips with a scowl ).

We found this amazingly beautiful water hole where you can cliff jump. I am so scared of heights but I did it. I jumped off. David went first and then I went. It was so fun to do that together. It felt like we were young again. Like when you are a teenager and you don't fully think through everything, and plan everything out. You just do it, because it would be fun. The water was so cold, but we decided who cares the thrill will be worth it. And it was!!! Nice to know that with kids and all we can still be fun and exciting.

Best pic I got of me being brave.... tried to stay as low as I could I guess

Happy Mother's Day

I just wanted to write a little bit about David's mom and my mom this day. Because without them we wouldn't have met each other and have had our beautiful kids.
My mom has always been there to catch me when I fall. She is the strength of the home. I love her so much. My mom's smile and laugh could always brighten a room. My mom had this uncanny way of always knowing when something was wrong. I have always wanted to look like her, I feel like she is the most beautiful woman world. But most of all I have always wanted to have her unwavering faith. Even when times are bad she has always turned to our heavenly father. I hope that I will be able to do the same when I have to overcome obstacles in my life. I love you mom and am so grateful to have you in my life!!

Then there is David's mom. How I wish I could have met her. Even though we have not met in this life she has impacted my life more than anyone could know. First of all she gave birth to seven beautiful children, one which is my David. Seriously all of David's siblings are so wonderful. I have the best in laws and the most wonderful husband, and I know its because they all received and felt so much love from their mom. David dosen't have a mean bone in his body. He is also a wonderful Dad, who is always wanting and willing to spend every second of the day with us if the responsibilities of life would only allow it. I do not take the love we feel from David for grated, I feel so lucky that he has experienced such unconditional love, because now in his adult life he able to give us unconditional love. So thank you Sue for raising such an amazing man. He has been such a blessing to have in my life. I feel like I am a better mother because of the stories David tells me about you.

So here are some pictures that I thought would be fun to put up for mother's day. It kinda shows my evolution as a mother. First it was just me and David. Then came Arianita, and now we have another little one to add to the picture who is our little Viggo. I asked David how we are going to fit the rest of the children we are planning on having, and he said I guess we are just going to have to squeeze in. Seriously if we end up having the number of kids that we want we are reallllly going to have to squeeze.

So this is how my Mother's Day Weekend went:
1. Got to sleep in Saturday
2. Helped David weed the yard..... he didn't want me to but basically I just wanted to talk to him, and so I just stood around and acted like I was actually helping by holding the weed clippers as a prop. We went swimming with the kids. I love swimming!!! I love feeling weightless and feeling the warm sun on my skin.

4. David took the kids out for the evening while I got to take a long shower, and then read a book that I started in complete peace.
5. Sunday morning woke up to my favorite breakfast!!! French toast with fruit and heavy whipped topping and some hash browns with Chile peppers and onions. Yummy!! And it was real whipped cream not the can stuff or that fat free stuff, the heavy whipping cream that you get to add delicious powder sugar too and whip into what seems to be as light as a cloud!!!

* The hot Chef...... oh lalala

* Want some more just looking at it again!!

6. My little girl who is a sunbeam this year got to go up with the primary during sacrament to sing the mother's a mother's day song!!! This was my favorite part of the weekend. She looked so cute!!!
* This is the face that I get to look at each and everyday!!! I am soooo lucky!!*This bush is full of lady bugs. She loves to catch them

7. Got home had dinner, and laughed and talked the rest of the night with my David
8. Oh and I forgot my present this year was a washer and dryer. I have never been so excited to do a load of laundry!!!!
* Love this washer and dryer!!! Once the load is done being washed, the dryer has already finished drying the previous load!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Mother's Day card my Kids and David picked out for me. Its a musical card and according to David kids started dancing to the music in Walmart. And this is not a traditional mother's day card, because the mother's day aisle was packed so David went down the birthday aisle instead...... :0)

Just like Grandpa

So we get a lot of hand me downs and wonderful gift packages (Sara) from family. It is so nice, because right when you think you need to go shopping for clothes waaaaa laaaa a box of kids clothes arrives at my door step. Well everyone's favorite aunt Sara just sent us up a package of gifts for the kids. Ariana loves the hello kitty wallet that she got along with the candy and everything else. But Ariana always enjoys the packages she receives. What took me and David by surprise was Viggo reaction. He has never had a favorite anything. Maybe I would consider he soft blanket from his grandma to be an item that he prefers, but if he dosen't have it, he makes no fuss. Well Sara sent him some clothes. Lots of clothes. In all these clothes there was a Hawaiian shirt. Well he goes crawling up to the pile of clothes and picks out the Hawaiian shirt. He tugs at his shirt he is wearing while grunting, and then starts swinging the Hawaiian shirt. We quickly realize that he wants us to put the Hawaiian shirt on. This was supper cute and we thought nothing of it till until he did this all the time. If he see his Hawaiian shirt he wants nothing else but to wear his Hawaiian shirt.
His Grandpa Bill wears nothing but Hawaiian shirts. Seriously he looooooooooves them!! Even wanted to wear one to my wedding. Well it looks like Viggo is following in Grandpa's steps. He loves Hawaiian shirts as well. What are we going to do with these two........... :0)

Cottonwood Fair

Went to the cottonwood fair this year!! It was tons of fun. My little girl actually wasn't scared and went on a few big girl rides. Her daddy was very proud. You have to understand Ariana in order to understand why we were so ecstatic. She thinks through everything!! And I mean everything. We will be riding in the car in Sedona near a cliff and she will say oh please drive safely..... what kid notices danger when in a car. Mine does that's who. She took forever to finally go down a slide at the park. And anything remotely dangerous usually is a definite no in her book. But I don't know what has happened in these last few months. It's like she wants to be more of a dare devil. Things like climbing on top of the coach and jumping off. Yes I know most kids do this when they are two, but my Ariana finally finds the joy of being a kid. She also now loves to tumble, and climb the wall at the park. My little girl once again has grown up before my eyes.
I will not lie that I was a little a tad a smidge envious of the trust Ariana has for her dad. For every scary ride, she always wanted her dad. It was adorable but at the same time I did feel like I want her to feel safe with me as well. But I guess I can't compete with a big bear hug that her dad can give. Though after having two kids I must say I am getting closer. ;) So anyways Viggo had tons of fun in the petting zoo. He loves animals. Every time he see's one he starts to hoot. Seriously it goes kinda like this "hoo hoo hoo hoo". And for dogs he now says "wowwow wowwow". That's how most mimic a dog in Spanish. Its really cute!!! Anyways we had tons of fun and can't wait for next year!!!

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home!

Ariana now gets her hair ready and picks out an outfit for whenever she realizes that its about time that her Dad will be arriving home from work. Oh my Ariana where did you ever learn that........... it can't possibly be from seeing your mom realize that its four o'clock and mommy is still wearing her hair up in a sweaty pony tail from the mornings work out, and has yet to change out of her gym/pajamas :0) Regardless of where she learned this its so cute that she wants to look special for her dad.

Yay we can take Viggo to the Wedding!!

David has been joking around with everyone that if Viggo is not walking by the time the Wedding is here, he is not going to take him. Ariana walked two weeks before she was one, and well Viggo seemed content just crawling. He could stand and everything but refused to take one step. I can tell he has just been wanting to make sure he can do it perfectly before he takes off.

Yesterday we were at the park and a little boy came up to him and the ran off. Viggo was in standing position as I was feeding him, when he got so excited he forgot he couldn't run yet...... yup he fell pretty hard. But it was sooo cute at the same time to see how badly he wanted to run off and play with the other boys.

Well there is good news. This morning Viggo was taking his first steps on his own. He would fall quite a bit, but only because like I said he is trying to walk so fast. I think he dosen't see the point in walking unless he can run. Yup he's a boy. Here's video of us trying to get Viggo to want to walk. Pleasssssssse ignore me I know I look ridiculous!!! Plus David as always is trying to do his best to embarrass me. But seriously if you don't grasp his attention he is off to the next thing. So looks like we are going to Sara's wedding!!!! lol

Had to have Yellow Shoes!!

So my beautiful sister in law Sara is getting married in July. Its going to be tons of fun seeing family!!! And watching the kids play non stop with their cousins.......but who am I kidding I also always love a good excuse to get all dressed up. So I decided that no matter what I wore I wanted to have yellow shoes. I found this cute black and white dress at TJ MAX, and thought it would look perfect with some yellow shoes and one of those statement necklaces but in yellow. Well the yellow shoes I wanted were from coach but my wallet couldn't say yes lol. So I went to DSW and found these yellow wedged shoes. The only problem was is that they had yellow roses. Normally I love anything with flowers. I think that is my favorite thing. But my dress kinda has a more modern look than a romantic look. So I decided to pull off the roses, then take the roses apart and use that fabric to do my own thing. After I took off the roses my shoes were left with holes. I now really had no choice but to make this work. I decided to do ruffles with fabric instead. I was so happy with how it came out. I am so proud of myself. I never would have thought I could be crafty, but look at what I did!!!! So happy to have yellow shoes for the wedding!!!

So here is a necklace that I want to wear. Like I said flowers always call to me, and I want to wear it sooooo bad, but I am thinking that simple will probably be better.

This is the necklace that makes my heart skip a beat

This isn't the necklace I am planning on buying but I was thinking on something maybe simple like this. Then I can buy one of those cute big flower rings. Like the one's anthropology have on their website. ( See I told you I have a flower thing) Seriously I think in High school I wore flowers in my hair to almost every single dance. I even wore flowers in my hair for my engagement pics. I think I got that from my mom...... she always wore flowers in her hair too when she was young.
