Snow for the Soul

I love Christmas time but everything seems to go sooooo fast! We have been anxiously awaiting the snow.  I love going on walks with the kids and pulling the tiny one on his sled.  I enjoy watching their little cheeks turn rosie pink from the cold.  I love coming back inside and warming ourselves to a fire as we drink hot coco.  I'm a summer baby at heart, but I didn't realize how great snow is for my soul.  The other day I stepped outside and I realized, snow slows everything down.  It has the ability to make everything feel still and quiet and it evokes a feeling of peace. It's natures way of making sure that humankind remembers to slow down and take a deep breath. After such a busy Christmas season it is just what I needed.  Some stillness.  And, of course some sledding fun.

We took a road trip down to Utah.  I love road trips.  It can be a little crazy with the kids at times, but I love that we are all trapped together for endless hours at a time.  It snowed and we were determined to go sledding. Even in the most freezing temps I have ever felt.  It was so cold that it hurt.  But, there is nothing a Ettinger won't do for a little fun.
