Dananananaaaa Da Na Na

Did my Danananana Da Na Na make any sense?  I tried to make it sound like that music they play in Westerns.  Oh well I tried.  We headed out to Tombstone.  It's pretty crazy to think about how long this little town has been around.  Can you believe at one point it was the largest town between Saint Louis and San Francisco?  My son got stuck on the fact that 70 people died on the street we were walking on in the space of two years due to gun fights and hangings. They both did not like that people did that back then.  It was fun seeing the shows. And everywhere we walked through people were dressed up in their western attire.  It probably would have been smarter to go on a day that was not a Holiday weekend but we wanted to do something fun.  It reminded me of Sedona in that it had lots of little tourist shops. At the end of the day we stopped for a bite to eat and Micah was in heaven having his own cup.

We found this little shop were they did western pictures.  I have been wanting to do this for a long time because of this pic of David's family.  Micah had a little hat but he kept taking it off.  He looked so stinking cute with it on.  Oh well at least I remember what it looked like.  Viggo at first was not to happy about it all, but soon realized we were all doing it.  He and Ariana looked so cute to me.  I must have just loved seeing them in hats. My kids are very anti hats and sunglasses.  So whenever they do wear them for 3 seconds I think they look so cute!

There must be something in the Water

For Viggo's birthday he received a Sea Monkey set.  I knew about them just because I remember people making fun of them all the time.  At first you couldn't see anything it took a while to see these guys.  But here they are, and guess what two of them have been mating and laid eggs.  Seriously! We have little baby ones swimming around and today I actually saw two of them mating and I saw the eggs release.  Who would have thought these little guys could do that.  I am in awe! Mostly because I thought we had a bad batch, I didn't know how many there would be, or how they would look like.  And then voila here they are and now laying eggs.  Crazy!

This little guy is ready for his first close up. He must see what goes down in this home.  Camera ready!  This morning Viggo saw me taking pictures of the Sea Monkey and he said "say brownies!"

( Not that I encourage say "cheese"(brownies) pics.  But I have broken down when we have taken family pictures, and they have broken into a "tiff" with each other, because one is breathing on them, or squishing them, and then I am not behind the camera to distract them, so I have yelled out "say brownies out of desperation."  For some reason telling them to say brownies instead of cheese just makes me feel better about it. )

He loves taking care of these guys! He talks to them all the time about how they need to eat so they can get extra big.  He is just such a responsible little boy.  He can be you know a handful at times like all kids are, but he is just so good about cleaning up after himself, and taking care of his Sea Monkeys. I am really glad David thought of this idea for his birthday.  It has been a lot of fun! Who would have thought!

Just about you!

I was looking at my blog and realized that there hasn't been much on this little guy lately.  So here is my Micah.  David is in love with you.  Probably because you are his mini me.  And you are the toughest little thing we have ever seen.  You are not a chubby baby but boy are you solid.  You don't take it from anyone.  You are your own person.  You love to rough house.  And you adore playing with your siblings.  Dad is your favorite right now.  But that's okay because your Dad deserves it.  He is pretty amazing.

You love being outside.  You walk around the neighborhood now like you own it.  Last night I was looking out our office window and I could see you crossing the street like you were such a big boy  (Dad right next to him of course.)   I just wanted to write about you today because Micah I love you.  Everyday I see you my heart is so happy that you came into my life.  I haven't been feeling really well lately, and last night all three of you cuddled into bed, and watched tv with me.  You were so excited to see a plate of apples right next to me. Ariana laughing, Viggo asking me to scratch his back, you right there with you big ole'thighs crossed across your body as you munched away at my plate of apples.  I felt very happy.  More than happy.  I felt complete.

Bonkers over 100's

Last week we hit the 100's for like a day or two.  It was HOT.  But luckily this time of year it still cools down in the evening.  My kids were going a little bonkers ( that's putting it nicely).  My friend posted this recipe on her FB and I thought Viggo could totally help me make these.  So Micah, Viggo, and I rushed to the store to buy some watermelon, blueberries, Kiwi, and strawberries.

These were so easy, and I just wanted to make them partly because I think they are so beautiful.  I love how you can see the frozen fruit through them.

Viggo loved adding all the fruit to the molds. If I ever need help in the kitchen he is the first to volunteer. He always tells me how he wants to be a good cooker like me.  Isn't he cute (when not throwing a fit.)  To his credit he is so much better, but none the less when it happens its never fun no matter what.

All the kids loved them! My "oh so healthy" husband thought it lacked sweetness. This from the guy who while we were dating said he does not eat candy, or any junk food (except ice cream.) Yet while spending our first Easter together, his sister Leah points out to me "oh no he does not eat any candy." (All while throwing down and egg filled with starburst Jelly Beans. I love teasing him about it!)  I figure next time I will add some agave syrup to them and see if it will help make them a little more sweet.  Anyways, these are fun to make and even if they aren't sugar popping sweet they are totally refreshing! If it can help me handle my children's mutiny I am sure this will come in handy for your kids too!

Kinda Crazy that one day my kids may find themselves reading this post, and maybe they will be making these very Popsicle to try and settle their kids down.

Check out my vein running down my forehead! Clear indication that my morning was as Ariana says "Cray Cray"
