Making David Proud

I think we have successfully made David a happy Dad this week.  It first started off with us telling him that we were having a boy.  It was so unexpected, we thought for sure we were going to have a girl, and we weren't suppose to even have had an ultrasound that day of my appointment.  I was in utter shock! I have been calling it Princess Peanut for the last month or so.  Sorry baby! When I called to tell David, I don't think I have ever heard him so happy.  He even took a quick break from work to come home and tell me congratulations! He works only 10 minutes away, if that.  The way he looked at me, was so proud, like I had done some miraculous feat.  It was pretty funny.  He said, "we now  have our forward, and center midfielder." I think he wanted a boy so badly because he and his brother grew up together.  He didn't want there to be too much of an age separation.  David may have been proud, but Ariana was so disappointed.  She got over it pretty quickly though.

Then, on Monday David went to enroll Ariana in the Surprise soccer league.  It seems like he has been waiting for this day for a long time.  Originally he was only suppose to go enroll her but then I received a phone call informing me that he and Nana had to go to the mall to go buy some soccer gear.  Once again you could hear the excitement through the phone.  Ariana loves to shop so I am sure she was on cloud nine.  When they got home, both were so excited to show me what they had purchased.  I guess Ariana wanted nothing other than black shorts.  Because she said these would be the one's to help her run the fastest. David said that she ran up and down the dressing room in them several times to show her Dad how much faster they made her run.  I think it's because she knows her daddy wears black soccer shorts too.  I just love this little girl.  Then David got her a couple of practice shirts.  He said the one, I took a picture of was her favorite.  He said that when he read her the saying on it, she just began pumping her little fists saying,  "this is the one! This is the one! This is the one that will help me score a goal." I know she is so my daughter, right? And last but not least la creme de la creme, the umbro soccer cleats.  David was so proud that she was going to wear umbro soccer cleats just like his. He even took his out, to show Ariana how they had the same brand.  Later that evening David preceded to show her how to trap the ball. She did so well, and she had a pretty strong kick.  Her Dad was just beaming.  Then Viggo, had to get in on the action.  For being so small he dribbles so well.  I think maybe it's because his legs are still so short, and the ball so big that the ball just stays at his feet perfectly.  It looks so cool though. He just takes off with it, and it looks so effortless.  I really do need to film it. I also need to film David's face, his smile goes from ear to ear, every time he see's his little boy dribble. So all in all I think David had a great Daddy week!
